International linguistic certification
Linguistic Certification Recognition
Important information for students enrolled from the 2026/2027 a.y. onwards
Do you have a language certificate and would like to find out whether it can be recognized as a substitute for an exam?
International certifications issued by accredited bodies certify language proficiency levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
To be accepted, the certification must have been obtained within the 3 years prior to the application submission date, and it cannot be submitted or recognized more than once.
Check whether your certification is among those eligible for recognition: TABLE
If so, the recognition will take place automatically, without any further approval by the Department bodies.
In which cases you can spend your International linguistic certification
- The English language is a prerequisite for access the master course and as such the relative certification cannot be recognised
- If you have an international linguistic certification of French, Spanish and German you can request recognition of the same as a TYPE F exam as an alternative to what is proposed in the training course (from 4 credits)
- For international students who are not native Italian speakers and holding an entry qualification obtained abroad: an international certification of the Italian language can be recognized as a TYPE F exam as an alternative to what is proposed in the training course (from 4 credits)
