Third mission

Procedure for earning the type F credits for third mission activities

The 1 CFU credit for third mission activities is the component common to all students within the 3 type F credits. It is acquired by participating in one of the scientific communication, orientation and scientific and cultural dissemination activities organized by the Department of Physics and Earth Sciences. It may be completed during the second year, independently of the curricular internship and not necessarily close to the thesis work.

The steps required to choose the activity, activate the credit and complete it correctly are described below.

1 - Choice of the activity. The student selects a single third mission activity from those listed on the dedicated page of the degree programme: https://www.fe.infn.it/cdsphysics/index.html. Once the choice has been made, the student contacts the activity supervisor, who coordinates its implementation by defining the specific objectives and timeline.

2 - Activation of the credit. Before starting the activity, the student completes the activation form for the type F credits for third mission activities (Third_Mission_Credits_F_Form_EN.docx) and sends it by email to both of the following addresses:

3 - Completion of the activity. At the end of the third mission period, two reports must be completed:

The grade is recorded once all 3 type F credits have been earned. Only after completing both the 1 CFU credit for third mission activities and the 2 CFU credits for the curricular internship does the student register for the type F credits examination session, which is followed by the formal recording of the grade by Prof. Fabio Mantovani.
